Building & Maintenance Committee:
Firstly, warm greetings and a Happy New Year 2012 to all fellow residents. I wish each and every one of you and your loved ones a Happy and Healthy New Year and better times ahead.
Upgrade works are still on-going with the dual entrance at Sri Suria (1B) we apologize for the continued delay with the installation of the boom for the visitor lane. The property manager has been instructed to follow up on this issue since and has promised to get it up to speed ASAP in Jan 2012.
On-going projects in Jan-Mar 2012 include:
a.Repair and improvised entrance signage at both Sri Damai and Sri Suria
b.All Gym & playground equipment maintenance (On-going and continuous monitoring)
c.Maintenance and upkeep of all streetlights to include repairs and painting. We are also identifying spots in the enclave requiring additional lighting. This will be an on-going exercise. MBSA did attend to these issues and have done quite a few repairs in the last month.
We are also seeing an improvement in the issues related to walkways and roadsides used as dumping ground for contractors. The property manager is continuously rectifying the situation and issuing warning letters. We hope to see a significant improvement and this must be kept to a minimum level (if not zero). Clearing all public sites and walkways is essential for our safety and convenience. This will be an on-going exercise.
Please continue to help us keep the enclave clean and safe for the benefit of all residents and the RA appreciates all help and constructive comments from fellow residents.
Thank you and Best Regards

GATES
The up grading to the gates at 1B, widening from one lane into two, is complete. And, finally after a wait of several months, the boom barrier for the Visitors’ lanes both for entry and exit, have been installed.
Please find again below the guidelines for the use of the gates.
Residents Lane
Exclusively for the use of residents with valid access cards. Residents must use their access cards as the guards will no longer be able to lift the boom.
Visitors Lane
For visitors, contractors, delivery people, pass holders and residents without access cards, including those with Bukit Rimau car stickers. All persons using the visitors’ lane will be required to register at the guard house.
Transporters
All registered transporters are required to sign in before access can be granted
SECURITY LIGHTS
Additional lighting has been installed at both Sri Suria and Sri Damai gates. Well done the management team. The news lights will provide better lights and additional visibility for our guards.
PONDOK FOR OUR GUARDS
Some of you may be wondering what that shed is doing by the Sri Suria 1B gates. No, it is not an annexe to the Matahari Club House, though all residents are welcome to drop by and share a drink with our guards.
It is the pondok for our guards to change in, keep their belongings and to have their meals and rest breaks. It keeps them out of the rain and the unsightly umbrellas and ad hoc rest area has been removed.
Shrubs have also been planted and in time will grow tall enough to shield the pondok from sight.

Landscape & Environment
As reported earlier, our current focus is on the maintenance of all the plantings and landscape work done last year. We provided adequate watering and fertilizer for the establishing of all the new plants.
The big trees along the roads were pruned in order to control or reduce the shade and shadow to the street lights. With good rainfall (towards the end of the year), these pruned trees are growing very well. Some old oil palm trees at the Sri Damai (at the pond side) were removed in order to clear the walk path to the pond and to reduce the thick shade. The new bollard lights at the playground / garden area provided good lighting at night.
Additional plants were planted at the main entrance of Sri Suria after the completion of the 2-lane upgrade work at the guard house. The native fruit trees provided by the Rotary Club of Shah Alam are growing very well. We hope to have more native fruit trees in our enclave. This will be our contribution to the plant conservation and the heritage effort in the country.
As part of our environmental awareness campaign, we organized two nature photography contests for the residents. The response from the residents was fair. We believe that the message “to appreciate and love your environment” has been conveyed to the residents.
Other Possible Environment Awareness Programmes:-
1.Environmental Exhibition at Matahari Clubhouse.
2.Weekend “Go Green Walk” with the Residents
3.Participate in Earth Day Conservation Effort
4.Pamphlets/Bulletins on Environment Protection and Safety
AN APPEAL - Please help to collect all food packets, plastic bags, empty cans, construction debris found around your houses. You may want to report to the maintenance officer or maintenance manager those litter bugs or contractors who are responsible for dirtying our enclave and environment. Let us help to keep our neighborhood litter and rubbish FREE. Also NO dogs poo along the road please!

POINTS 2 PONDER & WONDER
Safety of Our Loved Ones Are At Our Own Hands
Dear Enclavians,
There have been many campaigns after campaigns, road safety talks after talks, displays of gory accidents with many of them losing life, limb & loved ones WHY THEN!!!!!!, there are still killer drivers on the roads.
A humble note to all my beloved enclavians this is an attitude & habitual problem, now known worldwide as the “Malaysian Driving Culture”. So WHY should we be known for so many BAD/NEGATIVE reasons when there are a lot of GOOD/POSITIVE to cherish of & for being Malaysians.
End of the day it will be u & me to be blamed if this were to persist & carried forward to the next generation, so dear enclavians please drive safely & carefully in and around our enclave as well as everywhere & anywhere you go with full of courtesy towards all other road users.
Why am I saying that this is habit or attitude, it’s because from what I observe one regrets only when it happens to him/her or the one close to the heart. The practise has been such all this while with all whom one knows, so it’s akin to the saying ‘monkey see to monkey do’.
Therefore when we are driving around with our kids please follow all road regulations & rules, this will one day put a STOP to the problem of the day.
Therefore it is essential that all my beloved enclavians, your relative, friends and everyone you know to constantly adopt a safety first culture and drive & ride and not to engage in any reckless or dangerous road behaviour.

Property Manager’s Report 2011
Below are the points that had been recurring in your monthly notices during the year 2011 if you would have noticed.
1) Feedback Form / Service Request Form
Please be informed that if you have any feedback or service request, you are advised to fill up the said form which is available at the Clubhouse office. If you wanted to call up the office, the staff can help you to write the form but you will still need to sign up the form personally. This is to facilitate the monitoring by the management and RA.
2) Security
As someone had put it, security and convenient are opposing to each other. Thus we request the residents to be more helpful because we need to have a system or otherwise nothing will work.
We would like to advise all residents to use your access card to enter the enclave. Those who did not have the access card have to register themselves at the guard post before entering. Those who did not have access card also included residents who did not bring their cards, had their card barred, lost etc.
For the contractors and visitors, procedure is as per Standard Operating Procedure. All the measures taken are to tighten up security for the safety of the residents.
Resident Lane
For resident who are having active access card only.
Visitor Lane
For resident that are not having active access card due to various reason such as forgot to bring, barred card, lost card etc. and all other visitors such as residents’ visitors (informed or uninformed), suppliers, contractors, workers etc
3) Speeding in the Enclave
Please be reminded that there are pedestrians in the enclave (kids and old persons) especially at the children playground in Phase 3A. To drivers who are driving around the area please be more cautious with the speed of your vehicles to avoid unnecessary accidents.
4) Parking in the Enclave
Please be reminded that you have to park within your compound. If you are parking out of your compound / boundary, please be considerate and not park at other peoples place or obstructing the public.
5) Food & Faeces in the Drain
Please refrain from throwing food (eg. rice, vegetable, use cooking oil etc) and flushing cat & dog faeces into the drain. The stuff would not travel far and ended up behind your neighbours’ back yard. Besides the smell, this will breed more rats in your neighbourhood as well (residents have reported more rats activity behind the backyard).
6) Rubbish
Please be inform that the rubbish are to be place in or in front of your own refuse chamber so that it will be easier for the collection and would not create unnecessary issues to others in the neighbourhood. The MBSA will not collect if you put it at another place eg. behind TNB feeder pillar or other peoples landscape refuse heap etc.
7) Dog
For all dog owners please make sure that
a) Dog is lease or caged so that it would not wander around and disturb others in the neighbourhood.
b) Please lease and put mouth guard on your dog when walking your dog because not all residents would like to have contact with your dog (friendly or unfriendly). Some kid may not know how to respond when the dog is running towards them and the dog may be as big as the kid. So it terrifies the resident because they would not know what the dog intention is at that point of time.
c) Please collect your dog’s faeces so that other would not accidentally step on it.
8) Cat
Residents that rear cats are advise to contain your pets so that it would not cause trouble to your neighbours. If you do not intend to rear more cats than you presently have please get the kittens out of this enclave because the cat population in the enclave is getting out of hand now.
Residents are advised not to feed the stray cats because they are breeding very fast and we do not have a humanly effective way to contain their population. This is a problem that need all your participation or we could only watch them growing.
Hope for a better tomorrow. Thank you.

 Blood Donation Campaign
A blood donation campaign was organised by the Sports, Social and Community committee on Saturday, 25 February 2012 from 10.00am to 4.00pm at the Matahari Clubhouse for benefit of the Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Klang’s blood bank.
A total of 47 residents came but only 31 were accepted to donate blood. Some of the reasons for the rejections were; pre-existing medical conditions, taking prescription drugs, low blood count, low iron and not enough sleep. Although we met our minimum target of 30 donors but we could have done better as our enclave has more than 400 families. Alas, we still have a long way to go….
Your donated blood could save lives. There are unfortunate people who need blood transfusion to stay alive. Donating blood won’t hurt you!
We hope more residents will come forward to donate blood in future.
Our big “THANK YOU” to all those who had participated in this year’s Blood Donation Campaign!! |

 Family Day
Our Family Day this year was held on 10th Dec 2011. Despite a heavy down pour in the afternoon and long school holiday weekend, we had about 650 residents who came out to enjoy the food and celebrate the fun together. This year Family Day's focus is "getting to know your neighbours" and a wholesome familyday fun.
The evening started with the registration of our residents for the lucky draws and the recuirtment of some new members. The children were greeted by the clowns and given balloon sculptures. The adults were entertained with ice-breakers, stage games and talent shows. We had many talented residents such as Mok Tsui Sean, Wong Hsui Yan, Connie Chong and her line dancing gang and Hermanas Zaman and team who kept all of us entertained the entire evening.
Many lucky residents went home with the lucky draw prizes as well. It was plenty of fun for the residents who came for the event. With this sweet memory, we believe our residents will be looking forward to the next Family Day again!
We would like to thank the following generous sponsors-Malton Bhd, Boble Way Sdn Bhd, YKK Nursery & Landscaping Sdn Bhd, Mr Che King Tow, Mr M.Kasinathan, Mr Chng Kiam Huat, Ms Susan Tan, Rekal Jaya Security Sdn Bhd, Sri Lara Security Sdn Bhd, Mr Lai Sia Yang and Ms Nur Firzanah whose donations help to subsidise this Family Day. Also, we wish to extend our thanks to our event organiser, Mr Kaiser Tan and his Yellow Mushroom team and BRDSB'S management staff and our security offisers for helping out that evening
